Moon has had a significant impact on the myths not only of Egypt and Greece, but also of the east familiar to us. In the east, so called, 'yin' and 'yang' of moon are regarded as the force making themselves balanced with each other, and it became the unique philosophy which interprets the creation and destruction of the universe. Such perceptions about moon can be found in ‘Chuseok’ in South Korea. Chuseok, the Korean Thanksgiving traces back to a religion related to the moon since ancient times. The sun was considered natural, but thefull moon that came once a month brightening the dark night was thought to be something to be appreciated. Therefore, Chuseok took place on the day of the largest full moon, on 15th, August of the lunar calendar. Chuseok has significance for celebration. During Chuseok, family come together, share a hearty meal, look back into the past, thank for the present, and hope for good days in the future. We expressed the meaning of the creation and the destruction in the moon through the shapes of waxing/waning moon and increasing/decreasing sounds depending on the number of people. The core message of this project is to give philosophical questions about doing thingstogether in the individualism era. We hope that this project encourage the mutual growth of our contemporaries.          Yet whenever I see a frog’s eye low in the water warily ogling the shoreward landscape, I always think inconsequentially of those twiddling mechanical eyes that mankind manipulates nightly from a thousand observatories. Someday, with a telescopic lens an acre in extent, we are going to see something not to out liking, some looming shape outside there across the great pond of space.          Whenever I catch a frog’s eye I am aware of this, but I do not find it depressing. I stand quite still and try hard not to move or lift a hand since it would only frighten him. And standing thus it finally comes to me that this is the most enormous extension of vision of which life is capable: the projection of itself into other lives. This is the lonely magnificent power of humanity. It is, far more than any spatial adventure, the supreme epitome of the reaching out.

달은 이집트와 그리스뿐만 아니라 우리에게 친숙한 동양의 신화에도 지대한 영향을 미쳤다. 동양에서는 소위 달의 '음'과 '양'을 서로 균형을 이루는 힘으로 여기고, 우주의 생성과 소멸을 해석하는 독특한 철학이 되었다. 문에 대한 이러한 인식은 한국의 '추석'에서도 찾아볼 수 있다. 한국의 추석인 추석은 고대부터 달과 관련된 종교에서 유래되었습니다. 태양은 자연스러운 것이라고 생각했지만, 한 달에 한 번 찾아오는 보름달이 어두운 밤을 밝혀주는 것은 감사할 일로 생각되었습니다. 따라서 추석은 음력 8월 15일, 가장 큰 보름달이 뜨는 날로 정해졌습니다. 추석은 축하의 의미가 있습니다. 추석에는 가족들이 함께 모여 푸짐한 식사를 나누고, 과거를 되돌아보고, 현재에 감사하며, 앞으로도 좋은 날들만 있기를 바랍니다. 달이 차고 지는 모습과 사람의 수에 따라 증감하는 소리를 통해 달의 생성과 소멸의 의미를 표현하였습니다. 이 프로젝트의 핵심 메시지는 개인주의 시대에 함께 하는 것에 대한 철학적 질문을 던지는 것입니다. 이번 프로젝트를 통해 동시대인의 동반성장이 이루어지길 바랍니다. 그러나 나는 물속의 개구리 눈이 조심스럽게 해안가 풍경을 바라보는 것을 볼 때마다 인류가 수천 개의 천문대에서 밤마다 조종하는 저 기계 눈을 하찮게 생각합니다. 언젠가 우리는 1에이커 규모의 망원 렌즈를 사용하여 마음에 들지 않는 무언가, 우주의 거대한 연못 건너편 저 바깥에 어렴풋한 모양을 보게 될 것입니다. 나는 개구리의 눈을 볼 때마다 이것을 깨닫지만 그것이 우울하다고 생각하지는 않습니다. 나는 가만히 서서 움직이지 않거나 손을 들지 않으려고 열심히 노력합니다. 왜냐하면 그것은 그를 놀라게 할 뿐이기 때문입니다. 그리고 이렇게 서서 마침내 이것이 생명이 할 수 있는 비전의 가장 거대한 확장, 즉 자신을 다른 생명으로 투사하는 것이라는 사실을 깨달았습니다. 이것이 인류의 외롭고 장대한 힘이다. 그것은 어떤 공간적 모험보다 훨씬 더 나아가 도달의 최고의 전형입니다.
